R&D Services - Biotechnology

The Austrian Centre of Industrial Biotechnology (acib) is a private, non-profit, research institution with 30+ years of experience. It is a multidisciplinary centre with research in disciplines: such as Organic Chemistry/Biocatalysis, Molecular-, Structural-, and Cell Biology, (Bio)Process Engineering, Bioinformatics and Synthetic Biology.

In addition to its more than 200 employees, acib has framework contracts with several scientific partners in Austria and beyond. acib can thereby provide additional expertise and equipment to the industry and act as a hub for industrial biotechnology in Europe.

acib has a budget from 2010-2024 of more than EUR 200 millions with international contributions from small start-up companies to multinational companies such as BASF, Sanofi, Evonik, Sandoz, Boehringer Ingelheim, Clariant, Henkel, 3M, Lonza, etc. (in total > 100 companies).
